What's Wrong with My Kid's Vitamins??

Have you ever noticed black spots on your children's vitamins? It doesn't matter if it's a generic brand or a name brand like Flintstones. After about 2-3 weeks, these little black spots show up on the vitamins. What the heck is that?!?!!! Is it mold? I have no freaking clue! But I do know one thing! I can't afford to keep throwing them out. Guess its research time!!

I found several sites that said it was oxidation of the iron in the vitamins. Hmmmm! That actually sounds reasonable! So, thanks for the info. But, what the heck can I do about it? None of the sites offered a solution to the problem. Guess I'm going to have to figure it out on my own!

But, at least now I have a cause for the problem. That's all I need to get the hamster moving on the wheel! Run Hammy Run!! Got it!! What causes oxidation? Water/Moisture! Get rid of the moisture & get rid of the oxidation!! So, how can I keep the moisture out of the vitamin bottle? Bingo!! I put rice in the salt shaker. Why can't this work here?

So, I put about a tablespoon of rice into a new bottle and crossed my fingers. Six weeks later and no black spots!! Happy Dance!! Give it a try for yourself!! Rice is cheap! Certainly cheaper than throwing out half a bottle of vitamins!

We're not alone in the darkness

Just a quick poem I wrote about how the world is in a downward spiral.
If we band together, we can lift it back up.

I raise my head up
I stand alone in the light
There is a dark spot
It grows larger each day

The darkness brings sadness & pain
I try to push it away
It remains

I can't breathe
The evil is slowly engulfing me
I try to push it away
It remains

I feel lost
I think the darkness is winning
I am ready to give up
I can't push it away
It remains

There is a hand in mine
I feel renewed
I have strength against all darkness
We try to push it away
It does not remain

I raise my head up
We stand together in the light
There is still a dark spot
It grows smaller each day

What do you think?

What do you think?

What do you think when you know the moment you've planned for is just seconds away?

What do you think when you hear the explosion?

What do you think when you hear the screams?

What do you think when you see people running away?

What do you think when you see people lying in the streets?

What do you think when you see a mother holding her still child?

What do you think when you know that you are the reason for it all?

What do you think when your time comes?

What do you think when you feel the flames?

What do you think when you hear the evil laughter?

What do you think when you realize where you'll spend your eternity?

I'd Never Wish to Be a Celebrity

So, I am reading this story expecting to see something horrific that Justin Bieber wrote in the Guestbook of the Anne Frank Museum.  That is not what I get from it at all!

Here's a link to the ABC News Blog Story that I read:
http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/justin-bieber-says-hopes-anne-frank-belieber-162001923--abc-news-celebrities.html

Even the people commenting are trashing him.  Clearly, the author of this blog and the commenters did not pay attention to the details.

Clearly, Anne Frank was like any teenage girl.  The article states that she had posters of pop-culture icons and celebrities hung on her walls.  So, I do not see why it is so awful for him to hope that an intelligent/inspiring girl like her might have been a fan of his, as well.  Am I really reading it that wrong?

This is a prime example of why I would NOT want to be a celebrity in today's world.  Everyone is so ready to bring you down and criticize you.  Why can't we bring people up?  What about the fact that a huge young star like him spent over an hour walking through a boring old museum?  What does that say about his character?

If I were a celebrity:

I would never give interviews.  Because your words are just turned against you.  But, then again, if you don't do interviews, you must be a snob.

I would never tweet or facebook or write anything down.  Because your words are just turned against you.  But, then again if you don't tweet or facebook, you must have something to hide.

I would never leave my house.  Because your actions are just turned against you.  But, then again if you don't leave your house, you must be a jerk.

I know that celebrities know what kind of lifestyle they are signing up for.  But, I still feel bad for them when I see things like this.  It makes me all the more angrier when it involves a child/young person.  We are making them into the adults they will become.  So, maybe the constant criticism will turn Justin Bieber into a Russell Crowe that just seems to hate everyone who approaches him.  I sure hope not!
